23. And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
Daniel 9:4
Our God is a covenant keeper and there is no other being that does that like Him. Earthly kings may promise things and fail to deliver, but God’s promises never fail. It is however important to know that our God is one who prides reciprocity. It is those who draw nigh unto Him that He draws nigh unto and it is they that honor Him that He honors. It is therefore possible for someone to receive a promise from God and never take the benefit thereof if the heart of the same is far from his God. The heart of someone who gets a promise and fails to believe or act on it is not on the side of God. The heart that dwells on disobedience to the injunction of God cannot be so positioned to take benefit of the promises of the same God whom he insults. Nonetheless, God is righteous and ever faithful to honor His promises unto those who walk with Him with all of their hearts.
God gave a promise to Abraham and, even to over a thousand generations after, He keeps fulfilling it. He made a promise to a virgin that she would conceive; even though inconceivable by any human standard, yet, He brough His promise to pass. He spoke by the mouth of Elisha to restore prosperity to famine-stricken Samaria within twenty-four hours, and to the chagrin of the greatest of economists, He did so. The Lord promised David an enduring kingdom and He made it to happen. He promised a widow through the mouth of Elijah that she would live in abundance until the famine in her land was over even though she had nothing to sustain her, and He made it happen. Whatever He covenanted with the just He never failed in bringing them to bear.
The Lord is reassuring us today that whatever He has promised to do for us, He would bring to pass subject to our following Him with all our hearts. He is not in the business of prospering His enemy and everyone who is in the camp of the enemy is outside the grasp of God and therefore an ally of God’s enemy. It is counterproductive to keep making your enemy strong in the battle he is waging against you and since wisdom comes from God, He is wise enough to ensure that He does not do that. He is therefore, inviting us to clear our hearts of everything that is ungodly and walk before Him with all our hearts for maximum effects. We have nothing to gain turning our backs on our God and doing the bidding of His enemy.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the heart you gave me which is of flesh to do and obey your commands, walking uprightly before you. Please help me to walk with the totality of my heart before you from today, so that I may continually be beneficiary of your loving kindness and receive the manifestation of your covenant promises for my life, in Jesus’ name. Every covenant that is yet to find performance, please help by your mercy to locate me in the performance today, in Jesus’ name. Whatever barrier that may be clogging the wheel of the performance, kindly remove today, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
