2. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
John 15:4-7
More often than not, a jubilant man celebrates his achievements in life without giving countenance to the one who made the attainments possible. He may have trained in institutions and by the best brains and therefore, ascribes his doings to his build up. Meanwhile, the race is not to the swift. It is actually time and chance as purposed by God, and orchestrated by Him, that happened. Incidentally, He seeks to be glorified for His doings, so that He finds it elating to arise for the recipient continually when he calls for or desires something. A refusal to give God, the performer of all good and perfect deeds, the glory for His doings ends up being a thief to a great destiny, making it eventually vague.
David was a successful king because he knew his source and acknowledged Him, always. And he was never slack to return to the source every time he had a need. Jesus Christ affirmed this position in telling us without Him, (God) we can do absolutely, nothing. We read in the Bible of Nabal at the time of David and subsequently about the rich fool. Each of them acquired so much but assumed it was by their own making. Unfortunately, they both left their acquisitions to sudden death not knowing who would or who did spend them. In Nabal’s case we have a faint idea that since David took his widow over, he most likely took his wealth through her too.
The Lord is saying if we would take time to be thoughtful, then we will give Him, our source of performance, all the glory for what we do achieve. Thereby, we get to have Him shield us away from the enemy who does not want us to have peace at any one time. A refusal to acknowledge God is a signal to heaven to leave us alone, a situation that exposes us to danger in the hands of the destroyer. Let us be clear from today, that we can receive nothing except it is given to us by our performer. Let us therefore, always give honor and appreciation to Him that it is due, so that we may continue to boldly approach Him for more.
Please pray:
Father, I love you for you are my ever-present Performer, giving me the things I need even before I make a request. I will forever glorify your name. Thank you for remaining my source and the supplier of the nutrients I need for strength in life. Please do not let me be cut off from you so that I may never whither, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Arise for my cause today so that the enemy may not triumph over me and I may never be put to shame in the mighty name of Jesus. I pray that you please give me this day, my daily bread, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
