God’s Hedge Of Protection

ree

Focus: Job 1:10 - KJV

10. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Psalm 34:7-10

Everyone God creates into this world, He fortifies from danger by building around him, a wall of protection. And unless the hedge be broken, the serpent cannot bite. So, whenever man breaks the hedge, he allows the enemy access unto himself; and the enemy being a thief comes not but to steal, kill and destroy. Those who realize the folly in trying to navigate life with the broken hedge return to God the builder of the hedge to refortify them. When they are so refortified, they operate free from the fangs of the enemy and resultantly blossom in the beauty of their God. That is the state of the lives of most believers currently. When however, the believer goes meddling with sin he gets the hedge broken again.

Job was a man God appreciated in his generation because of his uprightness in his ways and the things of God. By reason of this, he was so protected and therefore, prosperous. The devil could not reach or deal negatively with him to cause him harm. Even the devil by himself, acknowledged that the fortification of God around Job was impregnable. As a result, Job’s peace could not be tampered with. The psalmist understood the power of the hedge and proclaimed the Lord as his shield and buckler, who also is the lifter of his head. He knew that it was not his experience or skill that saved him from Saul’s javelin or the swords of those he sent after him. It was simply God’s hedge of protection.

It is clear that if God be for us, no other being can be against us; not even the devil. He is therefore reassuring us of His protection for us always, if we fear and abide in Him. Those who do not fear Him end up breaking the hedge He has put around them. When such happens, He is not available to protect the exposed anymore until there be a reconciliation. When we abide in His hedge, we prosper in our ways. When we do not, we suffer strife, tribulation and all manner of attack. Then it will be true that we have been against ourself. Hearken therefore, today and remain within God’s fortification for your life. Never allow anything to draw you out of it, for danger lurks all around.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for your protection over my life from birth up till now; for I recognize that it is by your mercies that I have not been consumed. I pray that you please refortify the hedge around me and make it stronger so that the enemy is never able to see me not to talk of hurt me, in Jesus’ name. No matter what the enemy brings before you as accusation against me, please do not ever heed his voice to allow the hedge of my protection to be removed ever, in Jesus’ name. Let me never become a prey for the devil to attack, in Jesus’ name. Let your angels remain on my guard to ward off all attacks, in the name of Jesus. Above all, let me remain forever faithful to you, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
