Grow up

Text: Hebrews 6:1

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Bible Reading:

Hebrews 5:6-14

Message:

Whenever a child is born, the desire and joy of the parents is that the child grows out of infancy traits into full adult some day. If however, the child though advanced in age is still stuck to the mother’s breast milk as the source of nutrition, he becomes a concern to the family and the parents start to consider medical assistance which most of the time is external. The same is true of those who are born of God. Once you become born again, you are nourished through the milk of the Word of God - you are literally fed with it. But the expectation of God who is your father is that you will like a grown child, some day outgrow the milk and start desiring meat and importantly receive capacity to crush bones. Of course, the foundation on which you were born remains the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus which you need not relay by bringing up your own doctrines contrary to Christ’s. But in holding on to the doctrine of Christ, you are not to remain a perpetual babe desiring to be taught always. Learn of Christ through His Word; meditate on the Word which you study and act on it. Therein lies your growth in Him. What aspect of His Word have you committed to your spirit for your growth? Begin today by meditating on the Word of this daily guide as contained in the Bible Reading and as you hearken thereto, you start to make your ways prosperous.

Prayer Guide:

Lord, please give me an insight into your Word that I may commit the same to my heart and act on it from now on in the name of Jesus Christ.
