Heed God’s Voice

Focus: Hebrews 12:25 - KJV

25. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

Hebrews 2:1-4

God is no talkative. Whenever it appears we, His beloved, are heading into the traps of the devil, He speaks, out of love and compassion, to guide us to safety. Often times, despite His words, we fail to heed and end up in pain, only to return to Him and be crying. A time was when the people of Israel heard the Lord thunder with His voice on Sinai and they could not stand to hear Him. Those who messed up to touch the mountain while He spoke, were doomed to destruction, kind of. That was in the days of Moses, in the wilderness. The same Lion that roared then, took the form of a Lamb and came to earth, speaking gently to us on how to go. That Lamb was slain and has since returned to Heaven in His position as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, now roaring again from heaven.

The people of the days of Moses were judged when they refused the voice of God as they heard Him speak to them on the earth at Sinai. Christ speaks now from heaven and we ought to heed His voice, noting the bane of those who refused to heed the earthly one. Paul traveled to destroy Christians in Damascus. He encountered the light and he heard the voice of the Lion speak to him directly. Those around him did not hear it. As it was directed at him, Paul had no option than to heed the voice of the one who spoke with him. This writer had an encounter with the same person while engaging in a voyage that was headed to sin. There was a sudden rainstorm and a growling like thunder, but there was the silhouette of the lion head on the window pane with the mouth saying: “how dare you do that?” The thundering was a voice heard by only the intended recipient.

There is a user of this Guide that the Lord is talking to at this time: you have received instruction directly from the Lord and you know what His will is, but you appear to be foot-dragging regarding the matter. The Lord will rather you heed His voice promptly to avoid the huge trap that is ahead. The people of old that refused to heed the voice had their regrets. To forestall unnecessary pain and regret, the Lord is asking you to heed His voice today. Not that the Lord has anything to lose if we don’t heed; all that is at stake is the pain that will be visited on His beloved. Even if you do not love yourself that much, to want to forestall pain, love the Lord your God by not letting Him see you go through same.

SOLUTION: Please obey the Lord your God for He knows better than you can ever know. Lean on Him and let Him carry you through. Everything He has said to you, do ensure you adhere to completely.

Pray thus: Father, I surrender all to you my Lord and my God. Help me to heed your instruction by banishing from my heart the noise of the enemy, in the name of Jesus. In the end, let the benefit of obedience be mine forever, in Jesus’ name.
