Focus: 1 Peter 2:4-5 - KJV
4. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9-16
The Lord Jesus Christ was given to us to affect our humanity, so that, even though by sin we had been consigned to wickedness in our hearts, wherefore God Himself acknowledged that our hearts were desperately wicked, we are now, through Him, translated into holy living with hearts of flesh, acceptable unto God. By our new hearts, we have been built up as spiritual houses and made presentable and acceptable unto God through our clean sacrifices unto God, by Christ Jesus. Hitherto, all our righteousness had been like filthy rags before God, and therefore, the sacrifices we offered were abominable in His sight. However, by the intercessory power of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been translated into holiness by reason of the Spirit that now dwells in us, the essence of whom is to direct our beings into being peculiar people, royal priesthood and a holy nation, so that going forward, our sacrifices may be found holy and worthy of God.
Jesus Christ is our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. He, upon His ascension has handed the gauntlet of the holy priesthood unto us, saying, like the father sent Him, so sent He us. The role of the priest, in the days of old, was to present sacrifices and offerings on behalf of the people. Some of the priests had died on duty while entering the holy of holies, in a profaned manner. Now, rather than the physical temple or synagogue that the people entered into at the time, we serve the dual role of housing the Holy Spirit in our bodies, and being the living temple that the people approach, like many did Christ while He was on earth, for the ease of reaching the Lord or making acceptable sacrifices. Hence, we are the holy priests that make spiritual sacrifices on their behalf unto God, which is made acceptable because of the authority of Christ.
Today, the Lord is seeking many more holy priests in the order of Christ, who will go between the lost and the Lord, so that they may be reconciled and become united. As the Lord Jesus Christ has been glorified for that which He surrendered Himself to do, for the ransom of man, so shall every volunteer of the holy priesthood be glorified on the resurrection morning. No, the holy priesthood is not necessarily a call to becoming a full-time pastor or church worker; but whatever you do, must be committed to the ministry of reconciliation, which is what Christ left for us to do. Engaging in that ministry is about doing the will of the father always, and ensuring we do all we can to make many more to see the truth, that the truth may make them free from the shackles of hell and Satan.
SOLUTION: Become the Lord’s holy priest by Christ and help reroute those who are already journeying to hell unto the path of salvation. As we cannot give what we do not have, to minister holiness unto others we ought also to be holy, for it is written, be ye holy that bear the vessels of the Lord.
Please pray: Father, thank you for recruiting me into your holy priesthood that I am able to make acceptable and holy sacrifices unto you. Help me that I may be fully committed to the ministry of reconciliation, in Jesus’ name. This very day, through my words and actions, please draw many more souls unto yourself, in the name of Jesus Christ.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
