11. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Luke 2:19-38
When a man has an understanding of the word and sayings of God, the same keeps him in hope of the performance of the things the Lord has spoken of or promised. Unless the man does not yet have confidence in the Lord whose words he heard, he is ordinarily propelled to wait on its performance. This keeps the man in belief and waiting upon the Lord for the performance. In essence, he would be encouraged to stay in the side of faith and to await the promise in due course.
The Lord had promised the coming of a Messiah through Israel even though many who received the word at the time assumed the Messiah God promised was to come for the liberation of Israel. Some that received the word became absolutely expectant and prayed for the manifestation in their time. The Holy Spirit went further to assure some that they would be alive to see the manifestation. These ones hung on until their eyes saw and their hands carried the promised child. We speak of the aged Simeon and Anna.
The Lord wants us to know that it is the season of the manifestation of great promises set out in scripture. He is assuring us that many in this generation, if they would keep His word in their hearts and be expectant of the performance of His promises, would live to see the said performances. The most vital promise at this time is that of the return of Christ. Even though we do not know the exact time for the performance, at least eyes would start to see the pre-rapture events happening to further enhance the assurance of God, regarding the second coming of Christ. It will be a great failure and defeat to miss that event. But an expectant mind would continue in prayers, fasting and maintenance of faith in the word, just like Simeon and Anna.
Let us pray:
By the power in the blood of Jesus, we receive the strength for longevity to be partakers and witnesses of epoch events on earth to the glory of God, in the name of Jesus. For this reason, you are not permitted to die young and you will not spend your days in sickness, in the name of Jesus. From now on, every day of your life, you will witness good tidings and carry miracles in the name of Jesus Christ.
Please share with others. God bless you.
