Focus: Psalms 50:16-21 - KJV
16. But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? 17. Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. 18. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. 19. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. 20. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. 21. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
2 Samuel 12:1-7
Very many times the hypocrisies of man make him feign righteousness when in real sense he is worse than the beast himself. It is demeaning to find a collaborator with the wicked who not only cooperate with them in their acts but also applauds them on, rise up to chastise others who appear to be acting wickedly. Imagine what it does to God to find who is ordinarily wicked engaging in a double speak kind of, by wanting to reprimand others for the same wickedness. God does not want such people who lack respect for His commands to put His words in their mouths, in any way.
David had just slaughtered Urriah to take over his wife. When confronted with it, he started to preach righteousness and feigning holiness, until the Lord told him to shut the hell up. They were many that ganged up to stone a poor lady whom they said was caught in adultery. When they were told to carry their intentions through only if they had clean hands and pure hearts, they could not continue for their hearts eventually convicted them. How so many are they that climb the pulpits today to condemn some sinful acts and the other who themselves are full of filth and ought not to speak where righteousness is being considered?
The Lord is crying out loud to all believers that we be holy that bear the vessels of the Lord. He insists that we be mute and not carry His words to others if we are not committed enough to keeping His commands of which we seek to speak. Truth is, we present our God a liar if we are filthy vessels pretending to be clean in the eyes of those who know we are rather disgusting. David thought his deeds were hidden, forgetting that there is someone to whom all secrets are open. He sees us clearly and glaringly and nothing is hidden from Him. Speak only if you are not complicit in that which you seek to speak on. Otherwise, please zip it.
Please pray:
Thank you, father for regularly showing me my shortcomings that I may come to repentance and not continue in my folly. Help me never to disobey your commands again, in Jesus’ name. Everyone that listens to your word through me, please let them see the light in your word and my transparency regarding it, in Jesus’ name. Let it never be said of me in the congregation of saints that “physician heal thyself” whenever I Speak, O Lord, in Jesus’ name. Make my life preach the truth in your word going forward, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
