Focus: Hebrews 12:2 - KJV
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Prior to the coming of Christ, God had sent many with a view to bringing man out of the decay of darkness. All these made their efforts but were not able to achieve the coming of the Kingdom for man to reenter. Some of them looked forward to seeing the day of the Messiah but could not see it. Simeon was content with just seeing the infant Christ and glorified God for it. It must be a great pain for John the Baptist who actually saw it but was not of the Kingdom which was why Christ said the least in the Kingdom was greater than him. All of these that had gone before, those that saw Jesus when He was here and those of us that came after, are witnesses of the things of the Kingdom. All of the gone and living witnesses are watching to see how each of us would fare in the Kingdom journey. Incidentally, we are all in one race and not multiple races. The same race that Peter, Paul and John the beloved ran in is what we are running. Most of them like Christ, endured many things and focused on the finished line. When we appear before the Christ, our works together would be tried, and not necessarily based on generation.
To make it to the end, we need to be fully aware of what we are into. We must be ready to endure the things that the enemy throw at us just so that we do not lose the price. We need to be temperate in all things. The witnesses are viewing us as we run the race. Some are wondering what manner of waste we constitute failing to redeem the time with the opportunities we have. Others are cheering on encouraging us to do more even to see us perform better than they had done. Yes, better. It is in our selfish minds that we dont want anyone to surpass us; in the Kingdom of love, when you do better than I in Kingdom affairs, the gain is the Kingdom’s and I have nothing to lose thereby.
Standing on the sure word of God, i pray with you today that the same Spirit that helped Christ and most of His Apostles to succeed will spur you on to success in the name of Jesus. You will never end up a wreck in Jesus name. You will not disappoint the Master and the witnesses. Whatever it is that is clogging your way to succeed is taken away for your sake today in the mighty name of Jesus. Keep looking at the example of Christ and you will end well. Shalom!
