Keep Evildoers Away

Focus: Psalms 119:115 - KJV

115. Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.

Psalms 6:1-9

What separates between man and God is sin. The Lord is pure and there is no evil in Him. Hence, when the believer begins to fall into romance with evildoers, he courts repercussions and real time evil unto himself, separating from his God. The way to go is to stay far away from the evildoer who has the tendency of influencing us to do evil. For as much as we are determined to keep the commandments of God, when the evildoer is around us, the tendency is for him to keep luring us into doing evil and thereby separating us from our God.

Samson knew the commandments of his God regarding the source of his strength. While he remained intact with his God, exploits were easy things for him to do. The moment he succumbed to the evildoer he got himself associated with, he ran into trouble with God and became a mill driver. But then, from the time Delilah started to seek the source of his power and made her intention clear that she wanted him arrested of the Philistines, Samson should have caused Delilah to depart and save himself of the calamity that later befell him. David was understanding enough to know that his misbehavior came from his fellowship with the evildoer and therefore sought a clear separation to aid his continuing to keep the Lord’s commandments.

The Lord is saying today that we are at liberty to choose between Himself and the evildoers we frolic about with. The one will lead us to outstanding blessings while the other only has doom to offer. It is important to choose the Lord and continue to obey His commands so that we may live and have life in abundance. There is no man that is more important than God, or that should be treated as being more important than God. We are therefore the holders of our own destinies. Let us therefore be intentional about keeping the evildoers away that we may continue to obey and cling to our God.

Every unholy alliance disturbing you from taking the full benefit of God is destroyed for your sake today in the name of Jesus. Whoever the Lord has not planted to be by you in the affairs of life and is forcing him/herself on you with a view to causing you to fall, the Lord shall cause a separation between you two today, in Jesus’ name. From now on, the grace to obey and fulfil the will of God you receive now, in Jesus’ name. And, as the Lord lives, you will never be separated from God again in Jesus’ name.
