Focus: 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 - KJV
11. And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12. That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
2 Thessalonians 3:11-15
There are many people outside the fold of Christ who take their bearings from what they observe of believers. Unfortunately, many of them have been misdirected and driven further away by the words and works of some “believers”. Rather than compound the problem of the world, it is important for the believer to consciously live an exemplary life by watching what protrudes out of his mouth and then, by doing only the things that promote the kingdom. There should be none that is not gainfully employed. For if the believer appears indolent and yet seen as very rich, he becomes suspect and endears many others to indolence which is never the way of our Lord.
Paul spoke to the Thessalonian church and expressed what he had heard of them that some of them had no work but went about as busybodies. He commanded those who were found to be so in the name of the Lord to get engaged and eat of their own bread. The essence of which is to say, the idle mind is the devil’s workshop. It is because they were unengaged that they went about saying things that did not glorify. But when they got engaged, they were bound to get busy. And to the rest, he enjoined them not to be weary in well doing. They were not to allow the past acts of the busybodies to deter them from continuing the good works of the Kingdom.
The Lord is sending this message to every one of us believers all over the world. It is better to keep our mouths than say things we do not know the depth of. Some of the things we say have hurt others and made them to have a rethink about the kingdom we claim to represent. Hence, if there be unengaged believers, to forestall the running of our mouths, it is important we get busy doing good work or crafts to get our minds busy and not available for the devil to work in. Let us therefore get busy so that we may keep quiet.

In Jesus’ name, whatever you will say that will get you in trouble with God will not proceed out of your mouth. All that you said in the past that had brought you into trouble the Lord will forgive, forget and wink at, in Jesus’ name. Going forward, the Lord will keep you gainfully employed and make your mind a no-go area for the devil, in Jesus’ name. You will never be dubbed a busybody ever again in Jesus’ name.
Please share. God bless you.
