10. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Isaiah 26:7-12
A lot of people seek to do the will of God without understanding where to start from. It is not possible to know the will of a person who we do not know. To some, God is a monster who kills His offenders. They seek to accomplish the will of that monster and thereby end up being monsters themselves in the pursuit of that will. But those who do know the true God discovers that He is Love and therefore, it is in love that they are accounted righteous. And, part of that will is that we love God Himself. If we do, we will give Him thanks in all things knowing that He is never the source of the evil we experience but that His thoughts towards us are of good and not of evil. Similarly, His will is that we love our neighbors as ourselves. In all, knowing God is a prerequisite to knowing His will and becoming righteous through it.
Moses was a man God endowed with so much information that brought him power. By his acts, he brought several plagues upon Egypt and parted the Red Sea. Nonetheless, when the opportunity came, he knew that he did not yet know God and would prefer to know Him. Hence, he asked for an opportunity to see Him. Paul the Apostle was a champion of the Sanhedrin, being a ruler of the Jews and a purveyor of the laws of Moses. After he encountered the Lord, he learnt so much at the feet of some other Apostles before he was released to minister to the gentiles. At a point handkerchiefs and aprons from his body healed. Yet, his yearning was to know the Lord “in to to” (in total).
The fact that God works miracles through you or by your hands is not a conclusive affirmation that you know Him and operate in His will. Unless we operate in His will, we cannot be said to be righteous since we do not yet know how to please Him. Like David, we need to seek Him at all the times of our day, so that we may know Him and begin to operate in His will and be the carriers of His glory and power, amongst men. Let us therefore be redirected into first finding out who God is and then, with that understanding, discover His will and operate in it. His will is that we be like Him, operate on earth like it is in heaven.

From this very day, better than He did for those before us, the Lord will reveal His person to you the more, in Jesus’ name. The revelation of the person of God to you will spur you into doing His will the more from now, in Jesus’ name. By your recognition of His will and operating in it, every good thing of life will be attracted to you and your household going forward, in Jesus’ name. You will finish well, stronger and better than those who had gone before, in Jesus’ name.
Please share. God bless you.
