Let God Work In You

Focus: Philippians 2:13 - KJV

13. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Hebrews 13:20-21

The life of every believer is different from that of the ordinary man. From the time he surrenders his life to Christ, the believer does not have a life to live of himself any longer, but he lives through the one to whom he belongs, which is Christ Jesus. The beauty of that is found in the fact that every life is expected to inure towards pleasing God. The one who can assert whether a life pleases God or not is God Himself. Now, since Christ is in God, a life which He leads is led by God. It is practically impossible for God to lead a life in a way that does not please Him. Hence, the believer’s life is lived to do God’s good pleasure in as much as it remains a surrendered life.

A good example of the life of a believer can be found in that of bro Paul. While he was a member of the Sanhedrin, his life was in no way pleasing to God as shown in Christ’s words to him when he met him on the way to Damascus. Upon his conversion, Bro Paul himself testified that his life was lived by Christ and for him to live was Christ. Hence, when the High Priest slapped him physically, an act which a natural Jew would retaliate instantly based on the doctrine of an eye for an eye, Bro Paul held himself back from doing so even though he told him he would have done so but for the restraint that was in him. Therefore, when the believer is taken over by Christ, He works in him both to will and to do of His good pleasure. The pleasure of God in the described circumstance was to turn the other cheek, which Bro Paul did figuratively.

The Lord wants us as believers to be fully surrendered in our daily living so that our actions are dictated by the Spirit of God who dwells in us to work in such a way that all our acts be pleasing unto God. The spirit that dwells in man depicts what his actions would bear, for it is by their fruits that we know them. If the Spirit of Christ dwells in us, it will show in our Christ-like actions; and if otherwise, it will show in the worldly acts that become evident.

SOLUTION: Run away from yielding to a negative spirit. Let the Holy Spirit be the driver of your soul. It will show in your works glaringly, for all to see.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for accepting to dwell in your body as His Temple

·      Ask God to please cleanse your body the more with the blood of Jesus to keep it absolutely pure for the Holy Spirit to continue to reside in

·      Pray that from this day, only fruit of the Spirit will be evident in all you do

·      Ask God to please make your actions pleasing to Himself and grant you the benefit of such life to enjoy from now on

·      Pray God to give you your daily bread for today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
