Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly

Focus: Colossians 3:16 - KJV

16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Psalms 119:153-162

The word of God is pure and forever true. There is no deceit of any kind in it. There is one who is a liar. Every word that proceeds from him is a lie. He lied from the beginning. Even in a whisper, all that he offers is a lie. He met Eve in the beautiful garden that God gave to man in the beginning. That first conversation led to man falling short of the glory of God. And ever since then, he has never stopped lying to man with a view to keeping him separated from his maker. Nevertheless, God has a better prescription for us in His word and by it we are able to forestall the evil prepared for us in the lie of the enemy. The word of God is forever settled in heaven. But like God said regarding Abraham, he was sure to teach his children and members of his household whatever he learnt of God. Hence, for the word of God to remain in the world and guide us from generation to generation, we ought to teach the same effectively amongst one another to hold on to the real truth even as we pass the same down to the younger generation. For us therefore to be able to pass down the truth, we must carry the word in ourselves richly in all wisdom. We cannot give what we don’t have. No wonder the Lord told Joshua to keep His word in his mouth meditating on it day and night to ensure good success.

Beloved, if you will eschew the lie of the devil found in the vain words and deceit that has overwhelmed society and replace it today with the truth of the word of God in your heart, you will be able to overcome the vagaries of this life and in the end sing with heart full of grace unto the Lord. Your ways will start to marvel many when you hold on to the word of God and act on it.

SOLUTION: Make it a point of duty to study the word of God and meditate on it daily. Act on the picture of the true word that comes to you from your meditation. Don’t allow the lie of the enemy in your heart. Whatever you are taught that does not conform with the word of God as written, is a lie. Mind the word that proceeded from the mouth of Christ more to take to heart. It is the real truth.

The Lord will confirm His word in our lives from today in the name of Jesus. He will make every lie of the enemy clear and glaring to us for us to avoid in Jesus’ name. The grace not to fall into the booby trap of the devil we receive today by the truth in the word of God in Jesus’ name.
