Love God, not mammon

Text: Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Bible Reading:

1 Timothy 6:1-16

Message:

The enemy of man is the devil. He is however a very subtle being who operates in terrible cunningness to deceive many away from the faith. He used the same device to bring down the first Adam and attempted it with our Lord, Jesus Christ but failed. He is not likely to come in a glaring fashion. One of his devices is the use of an agent called mammon, a god(demon) that deceives many and lures them to love money more than God. Many people there are who will do anything to acquire financial wealth devoid of the counsel of the Lord. And because in doing so, they turn their backs on their God they pitch their tents with the enemy and against their Creator who ordinarily owns all things and can liberally give to them even the riches they seek. The funny thing is that no man since Adam has taken a jot of any of the resources on earth out of it. They leave everything there and the owner thereof redistributes the same as He wills. So, it becomes baffling when one discovers that some will still sear their hearts with such things that perish and at the end perish with it themselves. Beloved, the uncanny pursuit of money is bad. It is directed by mammon from the pit of hell. That urge to do the indescribable to get rich is satanic. The urge to withhold from God what He gave you is the beginning of clinging your heart to it and loving it more than God the giver. Take the love of money away from your heart today. Submit unto God, resist mammon now and he will flee from you.

Prayer Guide:

Lord I commit my heart unto you this day, please help me to guard it from mammon that I may remain yours forever in Jesus name.
