Love your brother

Key verse: 1 John 3:10

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Genesis 4:1-10

After God created the first Adam, no where have we read that He created another. We all emanated from the only one that was created. Before he fell, Adam was described as son of God, but upon his unrighteousness, he fell from his position of relationship with God. Everyone that was, is and would be, existed in him at the time of his unrighteousness and fall from position. Cain, the first offspring killed his only brother and God was unhappy with him. Now, we are so many that came from the loins of Adam. When they were only two, love failed. Yet God is Love and there is no pleasing Him except we live in love. Meanwhile, everywhere we turn today, love is lost completely. Yet we are all brothers, offspring of the same parents, Adam and Eve!

The world will be a better place if we realize we all are brothers and emanate from the same loins. That fellow we see begging by the Street or just lying there homeless is our brother you know? The one we act negatively towards in a search for job and what to do to have a good life is not a stranger as we do want to believe. Everyone we encounter and we can assist but fail to, is done in denial of brotherhood and boils down to unrighteousness which is not of God. To bring it nearer home, by the sacrifice of Christ for mankind, everyone that believes and accepts Christ, becomes dead to the gene of Adam and is a new born in the similitude of Christ who is Spirit-born. It follows therefore that everyone who is so born of the Spirit is a brother to the other. Unlike the works of unrighteousness found in the hands of Cain and every other person in the gene of Adam, born of the flesh, they that are born of the Spirit, being now children of God and joint heirs with Christ are expected to dwell in righteousness. When a person supposedly born of the Spirit therefore starts to dwell in unrighteousness to God by not loving his brother, what then is the difference between his new born stature and his birth in the flesh?

Beloved, let us please eschew all bitterness and godlessness by showing love to our brethren particularly those of the household of faith. Then do we live in righteousness and then are we truly accounted by Heaven as the children of God.

Pray: Father, help me to live in love by fulfilling every demand thereof for the rest of my life so that I may remain your child in Jesus name
