Magnify The Lord

Focus: Psalms 34:1-3 - KJV

1. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Psalms 34:1-8

To magnify is to make bigger or larger than ordinary. The Lord is the Almighty. In His might, there is no one in His capacity. To magnify can also mean to extol or glorify. There is no way a mere man can make the Lord bigger or larger than He is. In ordinary sense, there is no one that can measure the might of God. Hence, when the psalmist says: “magnify the Lord”, he simply means to extol the Lord. When we extol Him, we are brightened like a sun by the light of the Lord’s countenance because as Love, He loves to be loved. When we do extol Him, we show that we love Him and since He inhabits the praises of His people, He comes upon the one that extols Him. When Jehoshaphat appointed singers to extol the Lord when he was confronted with enemy battle, God entered into the praises of Israel and discomfited the enemy for them. All of a sudden, the enemies started to destroy themselves by themselves. In the end, Jehoshaphat and his team had a resounding victory without a fight. Whenever we extol the Lord therefore, we are the one being magnified and made larger by the countenance of the Lord. Hence, the counsel of the Lord for us today is to extol Him more for greater and better results in our battles.

Friend, it is time to praise and extol the Lord the more. The pressure that you are passing through is not a big deal for God to tackle. If you will take time to “magnify” Him from today, it is you that will be magnified before your enemies in the end. Let nothing scare you beyond necessary. The Lord will brighten you up and make you a terror to darkness if you will extol Him today.

SOLUTION: Find time to praise God constantly and as much as you can. Doing so repels darkness and the issues of darkness are dispersed by His presence. The therapy for your victory in that battle therefore is praise.

Father, you gave Israel victory without a fight: we extol you today like they also did, please arise for our support and put the enemy to flight in the name of Jesus Christ. Please Lord, let the light of your countenance disperse the darkness around us in the name of Jesus Christ. We shall praise you forever in Jesus’ name.
