Focus: Titus 3:8 - KJV
8. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Romans 6:1-7
When a sinner commits sin, it is not surprising. It is that it is his nature and it surprises no one who knows him. If a person is known to be profane and a chronic fornicator, when people see the same putting up his/her trade, they walk by unperturbed. It however becomes somewhat when a person who is supposed to be a new creature that has been redeemed from the sinful nature is seen dabbling in sin. If sin was right in the first place, there will be no basis for redemption. Hence, when a person affirms a belief in God, the same ought to be careful to do only good works from then on. His professing God is saying he has been crucified with Christ. That simply says he is dead to sin and resurrected with Christ to the extent that he is now only susceptible to doing what the living Christ would do. When Christ was in the flesh, he went about doing good. In the same manner, anyone risen with Him should be found only in good works. It is an aberration of sort to find such a person in sin or sinful ways. Interestingly anyone that so lives cannot expect the grace of God to continue to show upon his life.
Beloved, every secret sin is forbidden for you if you must enjoy the grace of God. Dabbling into evil in its minutest form is accepting to serve sin and contradicts the new nature. If we claim old things are passed away, then we should let them pass. Spiritual things don’t require anybody’s knowledge or permission for repercussions to follow. They are automatic rules with automatic applications. So, never assume any sin committed is hidden. That is great folly. The fact that it has not been exposed does not mean it has not taken its course.
SOLUTION: Abstain from sin in all its ramification if you bear the vessel of the Lord. The Spirit of liberty in you is the One that gives you life and life more abundantly and He is holy. Be therefore holy in all your doings to show you value your new life in the Spirit.
May the Almighty God cause His Spirit to sustain you in holiness in Jesus’ name. May the power of sin and hell never overcome you in Jesus’ name. By the reason of your decision to stay with Christ, may you never be drawn to sin again in Jesus’ name. It is possible to live holy. Be holy!
