Make the Lord your Light

Text: Psalms 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Bible Reading:

Romans 8:28-34

Message:

Those who have experienced salvation in Christ Jesus and who know the operations of the Kingdom of God have great testimonies to share about the goodness and faithfulness of God. Even though we are confronted with tribulations, we are not consumed in them in that all things work together for good for them that love God and who are the called according to His purpose. That is why the psalmist so reassuringly stated that even though he walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he feared no evil. Everyone that knows God has Him as their defence. Whenever a person is located in Christ, he needs not fear because there is no power that is higher than Christ. He is able to protect His own and for those of them who may inadvertently stray, Christ intercedes for them continually to prevent them from entering into the Job-kind of situation. No matter how difficult a situation may appear, it is never too much for a believer to bear because God will not allow us to be tempted beyond that which we can bear. God however, does not force Himself on any. That is why He says He stands at the door and knocks. It is only those who bid Him welcome that He presents Himself as light to. In retrospect therefore, anyone that refuses the light of God has no strength against darkness and has everything to fear. Many had the light of the Lord but shut the same out. And that is why they live in regret. Stick with the light and your strength is assured. Stand in Christ and none can be against you successfully.

Prayer Guide:

Father, because I am located in you, continue to be my strength and put every enemy of my soul to flight in Jesus name.
