Focus: 1 Timothy 6:12 - KJV
12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Philippians 3:7-14
The life of a believer is a battle from the beginning to the end. The enemy knows you have been called to attain some great and beautiful glory but is determined to scuttle the chances of getting there. No wonder Paul counsels that we keep fighting until we gain life in eternity, where the glory awaits us. In his case, he realized the war against his soul was centered around his past achievements. To overcome, he put the past behind him and laid hold on the future.
We are also called to something better than whatever it is we are in currently. Even if the enemy is waging war fiercely from any side, we ought to decipher that angle by the help of the Holy Spirit and shed it for Christ’s sake. There is nothing too big to shed for the love of Christ, so as to lay hold on eternal life. Earthly attainments are nothing compared to heavenly treasures. A man once said he would lay down all he had if allowed a small travel box, if the Lord told him to go as a missionary to another territory away from home.
Why not review your life to see where the enemy is targeting to use to pull you down flat and work on the same for the sake of Christ. Fight and obtain the victory. Never assume anything is too much to lay aside so as to lay hold on eternal life.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for all that I may have achieved in life through your power. Whatever it is that I must let go in the battle of life so as to lay hold on eternal life, please strengthen me to let the same go, in Jesus’ name. Help me to truly be able to do all things by your strengthening me. Even from today, give me the overcoming streak, over the enemy, in the battles of my life, in Jesus’ name.
