No Shame In Knowing God’s Word

Focus: Psalms 119:80 - KJV

80. Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.

Psalms 119:73-80

The beauty of being the Lord’s vessel is that men are attracted unto us seeking to know more about God and His statutes, through us. If, however, we that are meant to dispel information unto others are not clear in our hearts as to the exact position of God regarding issues, we are likely to create greater confusion in the people. There was a time when Peter, being the chief Apostle, appeared to be confused as to the position of God regarding circumcision. His position caused some others to challenge and confront him with what the position of the Holy Spirit is. But when he got his heart cleared and filled with the truth, even when there were issues in far locations in the church, they waited for him to come to correct the position of things and direct the route to follow to be in good stead with God.

It can therefore, not be right for leaders of denominations and even parishes to be half baked when it comes to the knowledge of the word of God which is the heartbeat of God. Those who are half baked make themselves susceptible to shame in that those they seek to lead may know some things which they do not know, which would bring shame to them when confronted with it. David was a king in Israel and by his position, he was expected to know the laws of God. He knew of course that it would be shameful for his people to approach him for judgment on matters and for him not to understand the position of God’s statutes in the circumstance. Church leaders are also priests and kings to the Lord in their respective domains. They cannot afford to be bereft of God’s statutes in their domain if they do not want to be shamefaced.

The day we start to carry in us the clarity of the word of God, understanding thereby the person of our God and His will, we become people that others look to for the light and direction in navigating through the darkness of the world. When we start to misdirect by reason of not being sound in that which we profess, we end up putting those relying on us in crisis and in the end, the shame of the crisis is ours. Let us therefore, be deliberate like Paul, in wanting to know more of God, never assuming at any time that we know enough.

SOLUTION: The knowledge of the word of God is pivotal in directing the people to success. Do not lay claim to knowledge if you do not possess it. There can only be shame coming therefrom. Note that the enemy whom you confront knows the word of God and he is a master at twisting it to deceive.

Please pray: Father, thank you for the little knowledge you have afforded me of your person. Please do not let me carry to others false or fake knowledge of you, in Jesus’ name. Therefore, please load me the more with the knowledge of your statutes in my heart that I may never be ashamed in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
