19. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Luke 5:1-11
It is possible to receive crumbs from the Lord that serve as life miracles from time to time. Yet, we can be clear partakers of the true meal on the Lord’s table whereby we are made to work miracles ourselves, through the hand of God. Whenever we experience a visitation from God, we are bound to experience some form of lifting in areas of our lives. But when we follow God and bear His presence always, miracles and testimonies become rampant and a common phenomenon. Many are tempted to just make a touch and recede. Their experience is momentary intervention and it ends there. Those who stay on to follow, carry the Lord’s presence always and He releases His glory upon them to achieve the same things He achieved, and greater things also.
When Peter and his friends were on their own, they achieved zero success. Then they had a visitation from Christ and they caught a draught of fishes. Then they got an invitation from Christ to follow Him that they may begin to catch men instead of fishes. They obeyed, left all that they had caught which was otherwise their heart yearnings, and followed the one who could turn their lives to a constant miracle. Singling Peter out, we saw how, he caught a draught of men for God’s purpose through the net of his mouth; raised the sick with his shadow; had prison doors open unto him of its own accord, and raised the dead upon one call. He moved from being an ordinary fisherman to being an extraordinary fisher of men. He got made by following Christ.
In this year, the Lord is asking that we make up our minds to follow Him alone, as He is ready to make us what He wants us to be. He is therefore, beckoning on each and every one of us to follow Him. We follow Him when we heed His words and do only what He bids us to do. The benefit of doing this is that we will become greater achievers because of His presence which shall never be taken from us. If we however, refuse to follow Him or fall back at some point, we put ourselves into a situation of a relapse which only makes the concerned to return to the old unproductive ways and forfeit the laid up profits for the days of following. If Peter had continued fishing and failed to follow after Christ died, he would never have seen the things God did through him thereafter: his initial time of following would have been a waste. Don’t let yours be so.

As a result, the great potentials that the Lord has put in you will begin to show up rapidly, in the name of Jesus Christ. Going forward, no devil will be able to scuttle your work again in Jesus’ name. You will live to manifest the goodness of God on a constant basis, in Jesus’ name.
