Precept Upon Precept
Focus: Psalms 119:128 - KJV
128. Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
Isaiah 28:9-17
Our God is one who is true, as there is no lie in Him to lie. No wonder He honors His word more than His name. To profit by the word or instruction of God, we must be people who pay attention to details. For, when a jot is taken out of His instruction or added to it, then it has become a lie and God is no longer in it. His instructions are based on precepts and lines, which must be followed to the letter. Mary knew this and instructed the hosts at the wedding in Cana of Galilee saying “whatever he asks you to do, do it”. Whatever means whatever. After Christ told them to fill pots with water, if they had gone to fill the wine bottles, they would have ended up drinking their water like that. Or, if after filling the pots, they had not gone to serve the Master of Ceremony first, they may not have had the result they had.
When the Lord instructs, and we take away from or add to it so as to suit our lusts, we have removed the Lord from the equation as it has turned to a lie. God told Joshua how to enter the promised land through the overfortified Jericho. And being the site that opened the matrix, it was wholly to be the Lord’s. if Joshua had not obeyed the precepts and lines regarding the going round of the wall and shouting, it would not have fallen. And when one of the precepts was broken by Achan during the victory run at Jericho, the repercussion of the lie came at Ai. It is only milk sucking babes, that are drawn by the nose, that assume the precepts of the Lord can be altered and still workout. When the Lord says thou shall not, such instruction includes precepts like: “don’t even think about it”. No wonder Christ says “mere” lustful looks complete adultery, or fornication.
What has the Lord told you to do that appears not to be yielding the expected result? Please check properly: it might be that you have not followed the precepts as laid down. When God says proceed to the city ahead, go to the street called Straight, and knock on the black gate at the end of the street, you will find a man there called Peter; if you go not to Straight Street but another, you cannot find Peter there except perhaps a namesake to the one you are to seek. Let us stop calling God a liar, or portraying Him as such to others, when we are the ones that fail to abide by the given precepts. God will not deny Himself because of us.
SOLUTION: Whenever the Lord instructs, please ensure to note the instruction properly; and in the implementation, never leave anything undone or do anything not instructed. With God, to obey is better than sacrifice; fasting and prayer will not help here, but strict compliance with the directive of God. If we fast and pray, the Lord may open our eyes to the missing link; but until we comply, it remains unfulfilled.
Please pray: Daddy, I am tired of toiling and not hitting the right target in the direction that you have given me. Please open my eyes to the place I have departed from your injunction, that I may return there speedily. And as I return, please help me to recover all the time I have lost due to toiling, in Jesus’ name.
