Put Yourself In The Position Of Others

Focus: Hebrews 13:3 – KJV 3. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Hebrews 13:1-4

One of the greatest ways to show love is to put oneself in the position of another and act in such a way we would want to be treated to the affected person. For instance, when we see people in prison, some of who are there not because of any crime they committed, and we put ourselves in their shoes, we will be moved with compassion enough to seek justice on their behalf, to forestall their continued incarceration for no just cause. Some are used to sexual immorality even though they are married. If they put themselves in the position of the spouse they are cheating on, they will realize that they are not able to stand by and see or know that the spouse is cheating on them. No wonder Jesus was passionate enough to deliver the leper by touching him, knowing that He would never want such agony the leper was in, on Himself. Talk also of the lame, the blind and others whose plights He dealt with to restore them from unpleasantness to better states.

When we put ourselves in the position of others, we will never pass by someone in agony without trying to succor them. Incidentally, angels, in testing our chastity, come to us disguised as people in need. The treatment we give to them is recorded for or against us as things done to our God and are brought to reckoning at the judgment. Abraham, the father of faith, saw three people approach him and he catered for them without having a fore knowledge that they were God’s representatives. By his hospitality, he brought his lingering promise from God to immediate performance. For Lot, he got rescued from imminent destruction. If we do not want to suffer pain and be neglected by others, then we ought to do something in support of those in pain. It is about giving to God. Also, hurting someone who is vulnerable is a very terrible thing in that if we do not want others to hurt us in our vulnerability, we ought not to hurt others.

The Lord is looking to us to exhibit His kind of heart in every sphere of our lives. By the mercy of God, from this day, anywhere that you need help, the Lord will appoint to you angels that will come for your help in Jesus’ name. When they do come, the grace to entertain them well enough to deserve their help, God will give to you in Jesus’ name. In every way you had ignored the needy in the past to forfeit some benefits in life, the Lord will forgive and restore to you all that you lost thereby, in Jesus’ name. From now on, the heart of compassion like Christ bore on earth, you also bear in Jesus’ name. Everyone that you had hurt in the past through neglect will find you loving from now in the name of Jesus Christ.

SOLUTION: Do unto others as you will have them do to you. Be compassionate. Never turn your back on the needy, no matter what.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
