Focus: Matthew 6:25 - KJV
25. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Luke 12:22-31
When God created man, of all the beings He created on earth, only Adam was made God’s son. There were other beings in heaven reckoned as God’s sons and because they are sons, they lack nothing good. And because He is a good father, God ensured the earthly son had all he may require upon the earth for his pleasure. He equally made provision for other lesser beings that they also do not lack. Hence, for as long as man continues in the pursuit of the will of the Father, he lacks not. Look for instance, at the children of Israel: when they began the exodus from Egypt, God gave them daily, angelic food from heaven. It was the food of heavenly sons. When Jesus taught us to pray, He said to as that we pray that God gives us “this day, our daily bread”. God therefore, is the provider of the sustenance for His sons. This is not to say the sons need not work. Even Adam was instructed to tend the garden, and the Israelites had to get out of their tents to fetch the provision. Every son of God is expected to reach out to fetch the daily provision.
Nonetheless, as much as there is provision for sons, it is possible to be amidst the same and still lack. Abraham received instruction to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Whilst in the course of doing it, he paid no attention to his surroundings assuming that it was God’s delight to feed on the blood of his son, thereby first losing sight of the miracle of the lamb. Hagar and Ishmael were so overwhelmed with hate and troubled that they did not see the well of salvation very close by to where they were in their despair. When Isaac sowed in the land and prospered to the extent of being envied by the Philistines, he was so envied because, despite the capacity of the land to yield plenty in famine, the philistines had nothing to show. The difference of course, is in being in the right pursuit per time. We are to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and see the enormous provision available unto us. Seeking the Kingdom is pursuing love. Anytime we do otherwise, we create room for anxiety for things that are not lost.
Are you lacking something good and are thereby troubled wondering when God will hear your prayers? Don’t look too far: first check your relationship with God and how so obedient you are to His cause. Once you can establish yourself in Kingdom pursuit, nothing in any realm is able to prevent provision from pouring in unto you. One of the avenues to show love and Kingdom pursuit is in giving. Many have lost out to the devil by believing his lies about tithes and offering. When we give to the work of God, even if the Pastor spends it on himself, he does it against his God and not you the bringer of tithe. It is love that makes one want to keep giving unto God and His Kingdom despite all that the enemy says, and God sees it. Why give to God and monitor how your giving is put to use? Let God be the determiner of that. Poverty has hit many lands because the people have been dissuaded from giving. Now, old givers have turned to beggars and are anxious for too many things. The tithe is meant first for the sustenance of the Pastor that he may focus on Kingdom affairs and not be distracted. Withdrawal of your hand from tithing is saying you disapprove of the Pastor’s wellbeing and God is not served in that.
SOLUTION: Take hatred out of your heart by returning to your first love. Honor God with your substance and the first fruit of your increase. See whether He would not open your eyes to see the provision that the enemy has blinded you from by his lies.
Please pray: Father, forgive us for allowing ourselves to be drawn out of your Kingdom principles for our provision. From this day, help us to forever stick with the pursuit of your Kingdom and your righteousness that we may never lack anything good again in Jesus’ name. This very day, please open our eyes to see the greenest of pasture for our satisfaction, in Jesus' name.
