Focus: Isaiah 45:13 - KJV
13. I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
Isaiah 45:12-13
It is never the intention of God that darkness be introduced to the earth. Wherever there is darkness, there will always be captivity and God knows. But because of His being, He detests captivity for His children. Hence, He is always on the lookout for one of them who would embrace righteousness so as to have a superior spiritual hedge over darkness, for Him to raise up to confront darkness and release others from captivity. When the Lord raises His representative, He backs him up to ensure he does not leave His children in captivity. He is still in the business of raising the righteous up till now. Unfortunately, not many agree to be raised in righteousness and therefore, the Lord has very few tools readily available to use to disperse darkness and the prevalent captivity.
There was a man who was timid and was threading wheat in hiding in a winepress. It was a time when darkness was prevalent in Israel and the captivity was rife. The enemy was always around to take away all that the Israelis had for a harvest. They knew the timing and were always in ambush. So, Gideon, prior to harvest, had taken his wheat and rather than thresh it in a corn mill, he went into hiding in a winepress to do it. But God found righteousness in him, called him a mighty man of valor and raised him in righteousness to help deliver Israel from its captivity. Eventually, darkness was driven out and the people of God had their freedom.
The Lord is looking at us to see who is available to be raised in righteousness to confront the darkness that is heavy over the world. Unless we make ourselves available unto God, He has no one to merge His light with, to drive darkness away. Yet, unless the light comes, darkness will remain and captivity is never dissolved. The Lord is asking that we turn around unto Himself and take up His righteousness so that He can find us to partner with. If only we make ourselves available, then shall we see the salvation of the Lord just like Israel saw in the days of Gideon.
