Repent

Focus: Matthew 3:8 - KJV

8. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Acts 26:16-21

When a person or people, out of ignorance do things that are bad, and are subsequently made to see that they are operating on evil grounds, the right thing for such person or people to do is to rescind their evil ways and grab a better way that is good. That simply is the meaning of repentance. It is to abandon the old uncanny ways and hold on to a better way that portends good things and not evil. However, due to some stubborn principles or old practice, so many have found themselves caught up in evil but could not muster up the courage to repent. Repentance is not complete until the repentant begins to bear fruit meet therefor.

Saul of Tarsus was a lawyer who was vast in the traditions of the fathers. He listened to the Lord preach and assumably challenged Him at some of His teachings. Even though he did not win the challenge(s), he could not be dissuaded from following his tradition of fables, more like the man Nicodemus. But a day came when he met the Lord on his way to Damascus and saw glaringly that he was wrong in his ways. Not only did he make a turnaround from his old ways, he began to bring forth fruits that depicted total repentance. He even had a name change. He started to draw others from the wicked ways he had followed, and showed them the new way he found.

There are many today, like the Jews of the days of Paul, the Apostle, who are bent on persecuting and putting genuine disciples in chains for putting to the public space the undiluted word of the Gospel. It is a pain to them that it is coming from another; and even though they realize it is the truth, they are not able to live by it. God is calling out to everyone still wallowing in darkness and in the lie of the devil, to have a change of heart by repenting from their old ways and embracing, instead, the true way of Christ that gives them light and let the product of the light show for others to see and copy.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the heart of flesh that you have located in me such that I get easily convinced of your truth. Please guard my heart from the fiery darts of the enemy so as not to have it battered with evil thoughts in Jesus’ name. Let the grace to help others, in darkness, to find the light fall upon me the more, O Lord, in Jesus’ name. Everything that I need to repent of, please bring to my full glare and help me to fulfil the turnaround like you did for Paul, in Jesus’ name. In the end, do not let me lose my soul after having drawn others to your light, merciful father, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
