Righteous living is understanding

Focus: Isaiah 3:10-11 - KJV

10. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 11. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Ecclesiastes 8:11-13

Wickedness is a bane to godliness. The fear of God is wisdom and those who stay away from evil have understanding. In clear terms, to be righteous is to live right with God. It simply means not doing anything that is against the will of God. Those who are righteous are assured of a generous reward for their doings and they are to rest assured therefor. The converse is also true: they that are wicked are also assured of the fruit of their actions. It is harrowing for people to carry the belief that they can be evil to their neighbors and just go free without receiving the consequences of their actions. Moses knew these things and warned Israel, and by extension, the entire mankind, against being wicked. He laid down those things that would happen to the righteous and called them blessings while setting out what the wicked should expect and called them curses. More often than not, these things happen truly as set out. To the casual observer, the wicked appear to be thriving more than the righteous in this world. But a careful interrogation would show that those assumed to be thriving or enjoying are actually covering their woes under their garments. If they should make the same bare, many will truly run away from wickedness.

Consider the ways of King Saul: he started in righteousness but ended up being wicked. While he operated in righteousness, he had many things working for him to the extent that when he prophesied, he was mistaken to be among the prophets. His reign was smooth sailing as he had a good result for his righteousness. No sooner did he resort to wickedness than he murdered sleep. He was tormented by an evil spirit, hated those who loved him and sought to just do wrong things continually. We must appreciate that wickedness or righteousness is first formed in the heart. To live right, our hearts must seek God to cling to with a clear mind never to deviate from His ways. When wickedness is also formed in the heart, nothing loving proceeds from such heart other than suspicion, wicked views, actions and speeches. To take the blessings of righteousness therefore, we must ensure we think on good things. Those things that produce love and kindness and never those things that would hurt anyone in anyway. Only the pure heart will fear God and live by Him.

Father, please arise for us to take us far away from wickedness that we may be pleasing unto you, in all our ways, in the name of Jesus. As we operate in righteousness by the help of your Spirit, do please let the blessings of Abraham begin to show in our lives from now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Every curse of the law, that is a result of wickedness, please separate the same from us, O Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let our lives become the examples of the blessings in righteousness for others to emulate, in Jesus’ name. Let there be a supernatural turnaround for better in all our endeavors and experiences in Jesus’ name.

SOLUTION: Do good and there will be goodness. It is about sowing and reaping. Avoid wickedness and the result of wickedness will never be yours.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
