Righteous Riches

ree

Focus: Psalms 37:16-17 - KJV

16. A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. 17. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

Proverbs 15:16

Whatever it is that is, is made of the Lord and therefore belongs to Him. Hence, whatever a man possesses belongs to God and He has the capacity to give it to whomsoever He pleases. It is He who gives or redistributes what has been possessed as He wills. When a person acquires wealth from the Lord, such is blessed and inures almost forever. But when the wealth is acquired surreptitiously, it suggests that the person is stealing from the Lord and calling Him a fool. Yet, God is nobody’s fool. He blesses the acquisition of the just and breaks the arm of the wicked so that he can no longer hold the sword in battle. Whilst the righteous has rest and enjoys that which he got from the Lord, the wicked may appear to be wealthy but is full of troubles.

Pharaoh was the king in Egypt. A time was when Israel sojourned in Egypt and Pharaoh would not allow the wealth of the Lord to reach them. Rather, whatever their sweat produced was added to him and his fellow Egyptians. God arose for Israel in the circumstance. He gave them comfort all around in Goshen while Egypt suffered plagues and Pharaoh had no rest. Ahab cheated Naboth of his inherited vineyard and got him killed. The little Naboth had he was satisfied with such that he turned down the king’s offers. Although Ahab took over the vineyard, there is no record of him doing any good thing with it. Rather, he received a prophetic curse from the mouth of the Lord that curled into having his blood spilled for dogs to leak.

The Lord is faithful. He is sending to us a warning of love that we ensure our acquisitions are based on righteous leanings. He will not because of anyone bend His person. Everyone that acquires wealth unjustly, will have the repercussion of arms cutting. There is nothing the Lord would do about that. He would never justify wickedness. For those who are acquiring through justifiable means, the Lord is ready to back them up to get even much more. We are therefore enjoined to embrace righteousness in all that we do, so as not to fall into the snare of wickedness.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for all that I have as they are given me by you. Whatever it is that got into my collection through any unrighteous dealing in the past, kindly purge today, in the name of Jesus. Help me never to cut corners to get wealth as if to say you do not see my doings. Let me forever operate in your righteousness, never to join the gang of the wicked, in Jesus’ name. Let my life be full of your rest never to lose my arms like the wicked, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
