Focus: John 17:18-19 - KJV
18. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
John 17:13-19
The main reason the earth is deteriorating and failing regarding godliness is because the people whom the Lord has sent appear to be moving away from the truth. The reason Christ came was to declare the truth about the person of God. In order that the subsequent conveyors of the Gospel may not be confused about what they are to teach or preach, Christ sanctified Himself by the truth in the word of God. How? Unlike the sects who prided so much the teachings of Moses that were not representative of God in strict sense, Christ absolved Himself of such teachings and presented the true position instead. Hence, He declared that when we know the truth, the truth sets us free. Free from what? Free from the bondage created by the lies of the devil that had been introduced into the laws of Moses. Which lies do not represent the mind or person of God. As He sanctified Himself, knowing that the devil will endeavor as he has now done, to insert those lies back in the hearts of many, Christ prayed the Father to sanctify us, the latter messengers, with His truth. How? By ensuring that we do not carry the lies of the devil and preach the same as the Gospel. He had the boldness to confront the teachers of the lies and to show them why it is not a way to salvation from the bondage of sin and from God. The same lies are the things many teach today thereby leading the people from the truth and therefore from freedom.
Beloved, the Gospel is the pointer to God. If there is anything you find in any other scripture that is averse to, or cannot stand side by side with the teaching of Christ, it is a lie depended on by those who cannot live by the truth. Yes, Moses, in his time, did his best to present God to the world, particularly Israel. Incidentally, there are stipulates of Moses that have been faulted by the Christ as not pointing to the way of God. Why then should we in this day still be relying on such discredited position as followers of Christ? To say the least, it is anti-Christ to hold on to such belief against the position of Christ.
SOLUTION: Please study the Bible very well particularly the Gospel. When relating in life, always weigh every thought or action on that which you have found in the teachings of Christ in the Gospel. He is the only way that leads to the Father.
Daddy, we recognize that the enemy seeks to lead us away from you at all cost possible and therefore he has recruited even some of those you had chosen to be your witness, by his deceit. Please Lord, by your Spirit, help to make the devices of the devil of no effect on every Christian particularly the teachers of your word in Jesus’ name. We pray particularly for ourselves that you please hold us up never to teach a lie as your word ever in Jesus’ name. Establish your truth as being the only way through us in Jesus’ name so that in the end, you will find us worthy in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
