Some Things To Do

Focus: Colossians 4:2 KJV: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Read: Colossians 4:2-6
Certain habits are essential for the believer to be able to forge an alliance with the Lord and His holy saints. Since God is the ultimate being who has the capacity to do everything that He wills, it is paramount for the believer to hinge on to Him. To do so, there is a clear ancient communication path, which does not fail, except when the trunks are clogged. That path is called prayer. Those who must pray successfully without the trunk being clogged, must be those who are always grateful for past benefits they enjoyed from the Lord. Hence, it is with thanksgiving we maintain our watch in prayer, to ensure it is unclogged. In all we do, we must be selfless even as we pray for our leaders in the faith, and act in wisdom with all those who are likely to be affected by our deeds.
Christ laid an example for us all. He had prayed concerning the life of Lazarus when no one was looking. When He eventually got to the tomb of Lazarus, He knew He needed to pray for the father’s support for the watchers to believe. But His prayer was special and not like anyone of us would pray ordinarily. He thanked the father for having heard Him. The miracle that followed His command thereafter, has now become an unforgettable testimony in Christian literature. At another time, there was a madman who lived among the tombs. He had no companion and was abandoned there. One day, he met with Christ and his madness departed. In his right senses, he had only known Christ in a bit, yet all he wanted was to follow Christ, without Him asking.
Christ is the one every believer seeks to be like. He has shown us the way. Today, He is asking whether we truly emulate His example or we just pay lip service to wanting to be like Him. If only we will stand always in the place of prayer with thanksgiving as our attitude, the Lord is available to answer the prayers of the grateful. Even at that, the request of the Lord is that we show love to all. When we pray selflessly in love, our God who is Love, will, with some form of urgency, ensure response and performance. It is prayers said to be consumed on our lusts that the Lord is weary of. Let us turn a new leaf to start doing these things that the Lord has recommended, so as to get the best of His Kingdom. Let our deeds attract others to the Lord and not repel them from Him.
Prayer:
Thank you, father for giving me access to yourself, through prayer. Let your grace to pray without ceasing rest upon me from now, in Jesus’ name. Help me to pray aright, selflessly with thanksgiving always, and never to pray with a view to consuming the performance on my lusts. Let my activities attract more people out of darkness and into your light, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
