Your Testimony

Focus: Colossians 1:8 KJV: Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
Read: Colossians 1:3-8
The place of the believer is to bear the fruit of the Spirit as against the works of the flesh. That fruit is simply love. There is no other virtue in the Spirit that does not dovetail into love. God is Love. Hence, it is expected of the believer that, when others speak concerning him, they must be able to attest to his love in the Spirit. The way to achieving that is in loving Christ without reservation. That on its own, is achievable by obeying His commands which are in no way grievous but bring the recipient into true fellowship with Him. It is counterproductive for a person called a believer, not to have a good report of love in the Spirit, amongst the brethren.
Before the people at Antioch could call the disciples Christians for the first time, they must have seen and observed Christ’s behavioral pattern. Hence, when they compared the known pattern with those of the disciples at the time, they saw stack similarities and conceded that they were like Christ. When Paul was giving Timothy instructions, he pointed out the love of his mother, Eunice and grandmother, Lois, in the Spirit as a testament to their commitment to the things of the Kingdom.
The Lord is more concerned about the fruit we bear and our character among the brethren than our incessant and unwholesome activities. When we hold prayer meetings, vigil and countless fellowships and our neighbors have nothing good to report about us, of what profit is it to us, or the Lord? God is calling us to have a rethink about our approach to Kingdom matters by ensuring that our love in the Spirit towards everyone is paramount in our doings over mere worthless activities. Let us therefore, bear fruit worthy of repentance and constantly operate in love towards others, particularly those who are of the household of faith.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your love that dwells in me. By myself, I can achieve nothing. Please help me to exhibit always, love in the Spirit in all that I do, towards all and sundry. Let the whole world come to your saving grace through the love they find in us going forward, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
