Speak Wisdom

Focus: Psalms 37:30-31 - KJV

30. The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. 31. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

Proverbs 10:13-14

There is a great connection between the heart and the mouth such that the heart dictates what the mouth speaks. No wonder the Bible says it is from the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. Hence, the purity of the heart as well as the wealth of its knowledge determine the things that proceed as speech from the mouth. Now, Jesus is the word and the wisdom of God. Therefore, the heart that dwells on and internalizes the word of God speaks wisdom and that, majorly. If the heart has no reception for any other thing but the word of God, then the connected mouth speaks only wisdom. Jesus was cornered and told He cast out demons by the prince of demons and therefore, they wanted Him to tell by what power He did what He did. Rather than go into squabbles or quarrel of any kind with them, He simply told them to tell Him by what means their fathers did the same. Wisdom.

Righteousness is premised upon the dictates of God which are contained in the word, and doing it. When someone dwells on the word and acts upon the things he knows of God from the word, he simply will say things that do not counter the position of God. He speaks love virtually in all situation and when he makes judgment, he does in righteous manner. Solomon was a man who got wisdom from God through His word and has been acclaimed to be the man of wisdom. While he was alive and reigned as king over Israel, kings came from far to listen to his wisdom for because of the understanding he had of the word of God at the time, all that proceeded from his mouth was wisdom and his judgment was clearly faultless. So, the word that we allow in us becomes a tool in God’s hands to order our steps on earth on a daily basis.

Beloved, it is possible to walk the face of the earth in constant victory, if we allow the word of God to dwell in us richly. It is very likely that when we stray, it is because we are not walking in the will of God because we fail to put the word of God to use or that we don’t even understand it. Incidentally, what we say dictates often the way our life progresses. If we do not sin with our mouths, then we are not likely to sin at all, which is why the psalmist seeks that his mouth be guarded or bridled with bitts to forestall evil speech proceeding from it. For us to be clear of sin, we need to grow our souls by the word of God.

SOLUTION: It is when the word of God abides in us that we are able to ask what we will, of the Lord and He would grant it. This is because once the word abides in us, we are not likely to ask foolishly but wisely. Dwell more on the word.

Please pray: Dear Lord, we need your help in finding understanding in the knowledge we have of your word that wisdom may proceed always out of our mouths. From today, O Lord, let your word illuminate our hearts with great knowledge and understanding in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
