5. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
John 10:1-6
There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is destruction. The believer’s life on earth is a pilgrimage. He is absolutely a stranger there. But his maker or owner, if you like, has for him a navigation that takes him to a desired end. He is not able to understand the navigation fully well unless he is guided by the maker. Some of the writings on the navigation are deep and not easily interpretable. Hence, he needs the help of the one who understands the deep things of God to guide him properly. But then, as there is the right guide, there are also other impostors who are destroyers and only seek to destroy the believer. As the main guide is speaking, so are these impostors too. It is only the believer who knows the voice of the right guide that remains in the right path. Those who get deceived into hearkening to the voice of the stranger to follow him, are led astray and are not able to make it to the desired end, which is life in eternity.
Our Guide is the Holy Spirit. He is constantly nudging us on towards the finished mark of salvation. Those who are conversant with His voice never deviate from the way. Some others listen to the usurper of the world. He has sweet things to tell them that get them deceived from taking the Holy Spirit’s instruction. When they leave the Holy Spirit to follow the strange voice, they end up in perdition. In the world today, so much noise is being drummed into the heads of believers from the camp of the usurper. They are being told how not to believe pastors, how churching is an institution of oppression and all manner of horrible sayings. If we do not go by the Church which is the body of Christ presented to us as the avenue to follow, who then should we follow: the world that is ordinarily filthy and full of vices including nudity, sodomy, and all manner of indecency and incongruity?
The Lord is telling us this day that He has laid before us the path to follow but that the enemy has put to us an alternative. He is asking us to choose this day whom we want to follow: our maker whose guidance is meant to take us to the place of rest in eternity; or, the stranger who is only luring us on the path of destruction. Those who decide now to choose the Lord will never have a cause to regret in this life and the one to come. But those who follow the stranger are bound to regret here and hereafter in that they will suffer desertion here and be consigned into fire where there will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, in the end. The wise will choose the one who made him, to follow. It is only a fool that says there is no God and goes on to do abominable things. Decide now while it is yet day. The night may come at any time, unexpectedly.
SOLUTION: Never abandon God for Satan. All those things that are said and flaunted before you are satanic luring to take you far away from where your salvation lies. If not the Church, then what? They claim they seldom pray or do churching in the west and they are advancing: have you taken time to study what is called advancement to determine whether you should be found in such? Decide to follow God only, from today.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for making me know your way unto salvation and eternal life. Please accept my thanks in Jesus’ name. I come to you today, please make me deaf to the voice of every stranger from now on, even as you keep me focused on the direction of your Spirit always. Help me to finish well and strong with you that I may come to the end you desired for me from the beginning. Make my walk with you today meaningful and full of blessings that my tomorrow may be better in the land of the living in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
