Stop The Fake Prophesies

Focus: 2 Chronicles 18:12 – KJV - 12. And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

The place of the believer is to speak the truth to power using the undiluted word of God. Any believer that opts to lie about the message of the Lord has shifted camp from that of God, to the other side. There is no lie in God for anyone in Him to lie. Unfortunately, many in the position of authority prefer to be lied to in the name of the Lord. But a lie is a lie and it is meant to deceive. Such does not change the fate of the one being lied to. Everyone that misrepresents God will answer to Him in the end. Even though the deceived would have suffered the loss, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

When Ahab and Jehoshaphat wanted to go to war, four hundred false prophets gathered and unanimously promised them victory. The messenger sent to fetch Micaiah pressured him to conform, advising him to swim with the current and echo the popular, positive consensus of the other prophets. Instead of yielding to peer pressure or the fear of a king. Micaiah stood entirely alone for God’s truth. He famously insisted on speaking only what the Lord says. He went on to deliver the true, unvarnished warning from God, choosing integrity over approval, which landed him in prison temporarily. He was vindicated in the end.

What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Why must we for whatever reason, misrepresent God before any man? As His emissaries, what the Lord expects of us is that we speak the truth to power, in wisdom (not of the world), without distorting the position of the Lord. The moment you start to put wrong coloration to the message of the Lord, you begin to misrepresent Him. Also, do not assume you have a message to deliver when you do not really understand the full picture and thrust of God’s direction to the intended recipient. Do not make others fail or fall with your lying tongue.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for communicating with me at all times and making me your mouthpiece to many others. Please do not at any time or for any reason forsake me. Sharpen my spiritual antenna the more so that I may always understand the depth of your message; and give me the boldness to deliver the message in an undiluted manner so as never to misrepresent you, in Jesus’ name.
