Strength In Zion

Focus: Psalms 84:7 - KJV

7. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

Psalms 84:4-7

Zion is the mountain of the Lord and therefore when the Bible would describe the source of promotion, it says it comes from the mountain Zion, the hill of the Lord, the mountain of His holiness. It is the mind of the Psalmist that God dwells there, in the city of His light. Now, any creature that stays away from the sun or light for so long starts to deplete in energy. The flower withers, the grass goes numb, even the leaves on the tree lose color and fall off, animals including man become feeble when they receive not the radiance of the light. In the same vein, every man takes strength from his source, who Himself is Light. When the man is away from that source, though he may not acknowledge it, he becomes feeble and faint. But they that do dwell in the house of their God abide in the presence of the light and are therefore built from strength to strength, continually.

How do we dwell in the house of the Lord? God is a Spirit and is Omnipresent. He however, will never dwell in filth. Hence, everywhere holiness is kept, God is found there. No wonder the Bible declares that upon Mount Zion there shall be deliverance and holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possession. When we dwell in holiness, we are propelled to the presence of God and the light of His countenance burns off every chain and shackle (like it did for Samson like fire on flax), and strength is renewed in us to reacquire what we had lost to darkness, if at all. The Light is in Zion and He dwells in holiness. Those who approach Him cannot afford to carry the load of darkness into His presence: they are either repelled, shed their burden or have them burnt by His consuming fire.

Dearly beloved, it is not impossible that the heavy load of burden characterizing hate, unforgiveness, strife and the likes, is responsible for our prayers not ascending to heaven as it ought. Such baggages do prevent entry into the city of Light, the mountain Zion. The reason we are weak and feeble is not far-fetched. The way to freedom and perfect health is in shedding the unnecessary load we bear, that we may properly appear before our Lord. We need to appreciate the fact that every time we take a posture to pray, we position ourselves to appear before the throne of God. Appearance is always possible with clean hands and pure heart. But when the heart is enmeshed in filth, entrance is not made available. And unless we appear, how can we be heard and how can the light of the King’s countenance shine on us? Let us heed God’s counsel so as to always be in His presence on the mountain Zion that we may be forever strengthened.

SOLUTION: Aspire to appear always in the presence of God by ensuring you keep your heart pure and hands clean. You achieve that by being on the Lord’s lane in the journey of life. That lane is the Righteous Lane.

Please pray: Father, please strengthen me with your light continually in the name of Jesus. Let not the burden of life drag me away from your presence, in Jesus’ name. This very day, Lord, do please brighten me up the more for strength in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
