Sweet Savor Of Christ

Focus: 2 Corinthians 2:15 - KJV

15. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

2 Corinthians 2:14-17

The word of God says there is joy in heaven over every sinner that repents. God is gladdened when any man is saved from darkness and brought into His marvelous light. But more than that, like the sacrifice of Noah after the flood, everyone that becomes saved is translated from death to life in Christ Jesus and becomes a living sacrifice. That sacrificial being presents unto God on a regular basis as against the one-off sacrifice of Noah, a sweet savor that makes him acceptable unto God. For in him, those that are saved see another translated Kingdom citizen and rejoice that their efforts are not vain; and those that are perishing yet in darkness find in him hope that they may also be translated through his commitment to being a witness. Hence is God pleased with his deeds and fruit bearing. But then there are those that perish and refuse to take the benefit of the sacrifice. Through us, they are moved from death unto death for their hearts are blocked not to believe. In their unbelieving state they are already dead but they fail to see the light and therefore get condemned already by the reason of the light of the Gospel which we share. They end up worse still as they move from that state of death to eternal death/damnation. What a situation. Meanwhile God does not want that to happen to them. He wants to receive of them sweet savor in Christ Jesus also. But who can help their situation unless the Lord draws them?

Friend, the Lord has invested so much in you by the preaching and teachings of the apostles and His saints. All these that you may be to Him a sweet savor in Christ. If you will own up to it, you can see those who are already in that position and glaringly see their shining in the Lord. It is not because your adamance costs God anything. Please be aware that when a tree is fruitless, it occupies space for nothing and when cut down, it costs the farmer nothing for the farmer can plant another in its stead which will give him pleasure eventually. Hence, your deciding to give God sweet savor is absolutely for your benefit and nothing else.

SOLUTION: Determine from now to yield your life to God absolutely and He will receive you and teach you the way to go.

Father, we commit our beings unto you as we acknowledge we belong absolutely unto you and you alone. Please help us to do your will always that we may be pleasing unto you in Jesus’ name. Don’t let us be counted as going from death to death ever but from life to life in the name of Jesus. Do make our lives the example that will draw others unto you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
