Sweet Victory

Focus: 1 Corinthians 15:57 - KJV

57. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Samuel 18:1-7

No matter how we view it, victory is sweet. Imagine for a bit, how David would have felt, when he was sent on errand by the father to give lunch to his brothers at the war front, but got there, confronted their albatross and won. And all of a sudden, he became the best friend of the prince and heir apparent, became entitled to being the king’s son in law, and most importantly, by the fiat of the king, he was never to return to the forest as the shepherd but to remain in the palace as a cabinet minister, determining with others, the fate of his country. That definitely feels good and sweet. This was not the only victory David experienced: we cannot overimagine his feelings when, after the king that sought his head died, he was anointed king in Hebron and eventually, over the entire Israel. The shepherd boy of yesterday, just kept experiencing victory all around.

However, attaining victory is not dependent on personal prowess, experience or skill; it is a function primarily of the supernatural. David was not the only son of Jesse at the battle field on the day he first experienced public victory. Even in his father’s house, when the prophet came to release the enabling power, none of his siblings was found worthy but himself. It was the anointing that separates between the boys and the men, to confer victory. Today, Jesus serves us the victory anointing by dying for our sins which impeded us, and still impedes some, from stepping into victory against the one who ensnares man from making progress. Christ has been substituted for us in the wages of sin and therefore, the snare has been broken and we are free. This freedom in itself is supersonic victory as we now have access to the throne of grace to deliberate with the Council of Heaven. We have become royalty sitting at the right side of the throne of God with Christ Jesus, overseeing the whole earth therefrom.

It does not matter the size of the problem, because of the victory we have in Christ Jesus, we can speak to the mountainous problem to be removed, and it will yield. No! We do not need a sling and stones; rather we need just the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, to pave way for us out of the situation. Whatever it is that the enemy is shoving at us like dirt, in the similitude of what Goliath was saying to David, just be resolute in God, as much as you know that the Holy Spirit is with you, by reason of your being in Christ Jesus. Know what? The position we are seated is that of authority. It is far above principalities and powers. The victory we seek has already been obtained for us. All we need do is speak the same into being and see it happen. Are you ready, today?

SOLUTION: Be confident in the victory that Christ has brought to you. Never allow the size of the challenge to make you cringe. Rather, be focused on the prowess of the one that has brought you the victory. Move forward and relish the sweetness in your victory. Christ has your back.

Pray: Father, I come in the victory that you have wrought for me to claim the performance today; therefore, every obstacle to my enthronement, I declare them beheaded like David did to Goliath, in Jesus’ name. Whatever needs be done, to catapult me to the palace and indeed, to the throne, for me to start relishing the sweetness in my victory, father please do for me today, in Jesus’ name. (Please pray fervently and see your victory show forth.)
