Tearful Seeds?

Focus: Psalms 126:5-6 - KJV

5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Galatians 6:7-10; Haggai 2:3-9

There are many people who are genuine believers in Christ who set out with the mind to sow good seeds into the kingdom but have been so frustrated by haters who pretend to be doing God’s bidding. These believers with open eyes, see the efforts they put up being thwarted by mean men and weep for the sake of the seeming waste they are taken through. But God is not like men and does not look like they do. He sees the effort of the good Sower and is very prepared to give the same the harvest of rejoicing. For His promise is that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former. Yes, God is not mocked; whatsoever a man sows, that would he also reap. They that sow in tears shall surely reap in joy.

Mordecai sowed kindness towards the king by exposing evildoers that wanted him toppled. He was not compensated for his good deeds. Instead, one of the king’s men that was a beneficiary of his good deeds, hated him for nothing, assuming he was proud. God made the hater Mordecai’s footstool in the end. Nehemiah had the strong burden to rebuild Jerusalem and resettle the Jews in their land. There arose serious opposition from the midst with a view to truncating the efforts of the builders. God backed the builders up to the chagrin of the detractors. At the end of the day, the city was built with joy and the builders had their time of rejoicing.

Working against kindness is never in the interest of anyone. It is treacherous to dig pits for fellow beings to fall into. If people dig pits for us, God’s word is that we still treat them with kindness because He is not only our rewarder but also our avenger. Hence, if at the moment, easy paths are being turned into something onerous for us, we are to be of good cheer for the tearful seeds that we sow thereby, shall bring joyful harvest in the end. We are to continue with our good works: never relenting, never looking back. Joy is on the way, and big time rejoicing for that matter.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for teaching me to be resilient in my pursuit of the kingdom. Please keep me in that state of mind and better to the end, so that I may never be discouraged by the affairs of the wicked towards me, in Jesus’ name. Give me the grace to wait patiently for the joyful harvest of my tearful seeds of the past as it comes, in Jesus’ name. Grant me the life and strength to enjoy the fruits of my labor when your outpouring comes, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
