Focus: 1 John 4:2-3 - KJV
2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
1 John 2:18-23
There are so many people in the world today that proclaim to be Christians which simply means they claim to be Christ-like confirming that indeed Christ came in the flesh, which people never lived at the time He so came. They are only able to be so convinced by the power of the Holy Ghost, who convicted them of their sin in the first place and drew them back to God in reconciliation. On the other hand, there are many others, who, despite all the teachings and preaching about the coming of Christ, their hearts are so hardened like stone that they will never believe. Such happens because they refuse to allow the Holy Ghost, who is the Spirit of the Most-High God, to work on them. Although it had been prophesied that in the last days the antichrist would come, it is by this latter set of people that we start to see the manifestation of the prophesy in that, because they deny the coming of Christ in the flesh, they carry in them not the Spirit of God but that of the antichrist.
What does the antichrist do? The duty of the antichrist is simply to dissuade many from the truth and have them enlisted in the team of the devil for eventual destruction. It is simply the opposite of the work of the Holy Ghost. They are always moving in the opposite direction from righteousness and holiness. Some do pretend to be part of the Christian movement, whereas, if well interrogated, it will be discovered that they are part of the mixed multitude. They function by faulting every scripture that appears to preach love, by drawing people’s attention, like their father the devil, to some form of scripture which they twist to suit their purpose. In all they do, they are never acknowledging God but always doing things that are inimical to Christ and His Kingdom.
The Lord is enjoining us not to be ignorant of the devices of the antichrist. Like their father lied in the beginning, they are full of lies and deception wanting to lure one away from the basic teachings of Christ. They are found in despicable places doing things that are inconvenient, ordinarily. The Lord is asking us to be watchful and beware of them. That colleague or friend always speaking bad about pastors and representatives of the church: beware of him/her. Those people always inviting you to immoral sites and places, avoid them. Indeed, everyone that denies Christ, take to your heels from. Your maximum nearness to them should be to drum the word of God in their ears continually, just so that if they fail to yield, the Lord would approve of your efforts.
SOLUTION: Beware of the antichrist in all you do lest they sow tares in you, to draw you away from the light. That which you have of God, let no one take away from you.
Please pray: Father, we lean on you in this end time; please help us always to discern and act accordingly whenever the antichrist is near us, in Jesus’ name. The strength and ability to always triumph, release unto us Lord, in Jesus’ name.
