6. Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
Romans 10:14-21
Wherever the word of the Lord is preached, it forms faith in the hearers and causes them to understand the grace of God in truth. But the word is heard by some and fails to bring forth the fruit of faith in them. These are particularly antagonistic of the truth in the word of the Gospel. When the word forms faith in men, it draws them closer to God and they begin to eschew evil. Nonetheless, there are others who, no matter how the word be preached to them, it does not form faith in them. They keep going against the truth and forming their own beliefs in antagonism of the truth of God. Those in whom true faith is formed begin to show it in their daily living; but them that will not believe remain imperious in their ways.
Israel was the nation the Lord picked as His example of how to enjoy the benefit of the goodness of God. He made promises to them of the coming of the Messiah but they failed to understand His word. Moses told them; Isaiah prophesied it that they would be dumbfounded when the Lord decides to make Himself manifest to non-Jewish people. Yet, they did not countenance the word of the Lord, and when the promised Messiah came, they treated Him shabbily and eventually killed Him thereby helping to fulfil His earthly destiny and mandate. If they had known, had they allowed the word in themselves, they would not have crucified the King of Glory. Those of the same nation that heard the word and leaned thereon bore fruit of righteousness and through their acts, faith has been reproduced in many others and leading on to righteous works.
Today, many are still afforded the word without them allowing it to produce fruit in themselves. They are adamant in their ways and continue to crucify the King of Glory despite all that He did to ransom us. Everyone who hears the truth of the Gospel and refuses to yield to God by imbibing the faith and bringing forth fruits of righteousness, is worse than the Jews that crucified the Christ. We are to let the word of truth sink into us and bring forth faith in God. Anything otherwise is a direct disregard of the person of God. Those in whom faith is formed at the preaching of the word, find God and begin to take the benefit of having a relationship with Him. Let us allow Him space in our hearts by receiving His word of truth.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for your transforming word that you used in bringing me out of darkness into your marvelous light. Let the work continue to propel me to bear the fruit of righteousness always even unto the glorious day, in Jesus’ name. Let the benefit of knowing you begin to show in my life through prosperity, sound health and mind, favor, greater wisdom and top most, your anointing, from today, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
