The Lord Of Hosts

Focus: Amos 4:13 - KJV

13. For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

2 Kings 6:8-20

God is One; He dwells in the heaven of heavens as the King of kings, the Creator of all and Commander of all the hosts in all the realms. When the kings of the earth surround themselves with soldiers and other armed guards, it is that they got a little glimpse of what obtains in the heavenlies. Hence, the title Commander in Chief is merely a copying of the title of the Lord of Hosts. Unlike the earthly commanders in chief, the Lord of Hosts and His Hosts are extremely powerful. When He takes a position, no one can upturn it.

Once, there was a prophet who relied on God and kept his way pure. As it is with many faithful people, a king sought to arrest and discomfit this prophet and therefore sent an army in his pursuit. The Lord of hosts needed not shoot an arrow in the battle even though His army was a multitude around His prophet to protect him. All He did was make the opposing army blind. Christ affirmed this position when a human agent attempted to defend Him. He asserted that He could bring a legion of angels to come to His defense. So, the Lord of Hosts has at His control all the hosts including the climate and everything He created. He employed the sea to dumbfound Egypt; released stones from heaven in the battle against the Amorite kings; used locusts, frogs and darkness against Egypt. All power belongs to Him as He can use anything at all, against His adversaries.

Why then are the righteous fearful and the heathen boisterous? Why is your head bowed because of the threat of that mere mortal? No matter what arsenal he commands, your Ally is the Lord of Hosts and can neutralize him in a second. He has promised not to leave nor forsake you. He is ever potent, ever sure. Arise with faith and await the salvation of the Lord which He brings to you this day. And, like He said to Israel, the enemies you have seen this day, you will see them again no more forever. Hallelujah! The Lord of Hosts has said it and He will bring it to bear.

SOLUTION: Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will bring your way today. For the battle is the Lord’s. Just have faith in Him and move forward to take your position in the scheme of things.
