The Lord our Refuge
Text: Isaiah 46:4
And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Our God is faithful. His promises are yea and in Him Amen. Whatever He promises He fulfills. However, to enjoy the benefit of His promises, there are conditions to meet. We must be ready to make Him our father and abide with His instructions and tenets. When we do, He bears us up in the palm of His hands such that whatever must happen to us must go through Him. He does that from the beginning of our loyalty even to very ripe old age. At age 80, He took Moses and bore him in the palm of His hands until he turned 120. Yet, Moses was as strong as youth. The reason why we fail often times is because we fail God in that we refuse to follow His leading; we rather prefer to lead ourselves. How wrong we are. Because God operates from an elevated point He sees better and farther than we can. He knows the wrong curves and where the booby traps are located and by His instructions He helps us to avoid them and to keep strong and well. Tendency is to enter into the traps of the enemy when we refuse to be led. What is that leading the Lord has given you that you are adamant about? It truly affects Him directly in no way but you. His thoughts for you are of good and therefore He can never mislead you. He leads you so that you may experience His carriage from infancy to hoar hairs. Why not make a U-turn today and return to that abandoned instruction of the Lord? Why don’t you hearken diligently to His voice henceforth? Yes, it can come from the pulpit, study of the word, inspirational scriptural posts and so on. Once it conforms with the undiluted word of God, check it out. God is waiting for your compliance. You will laugh last.
I submit my will to yours dear Lord. Please lead me on from today and help me never to get out of your instruction again in Jesus name.
