The Love Embrace

Focus: Acts 4:31 - KJV

31. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 2:1-4

Our God is Love. Due to His love for man, He created him in His own image by first molding him out of dust and breathing Himself into him. By that breath, God was in an unstopping embrace with man until the man said it was enough and broke off through sin. Jesus died to restore man to the initial position by reconciling him with the father, the effect of which is, for everyone that believes, an opportunity for a fresh embrace. Hence, it is written that God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. In effect, when we believe, we get back into the embrace of Love and thereby receive back the life that was lost in the garden.

When it appeared to Mary and Martha that Lazarus was dead for good, Jesus in pain for their unbelief exclaimed and said “if thou wouldest believe, you will see the glory of God.” And then the dead was brought back to life because Love was available to embrace him and keep him alive, again. The Leper believed and asked Jesus to make him whole. By his belief, Jesus touched him, the one whom the law had forbidden from coming within reach, and like in an embrace of love, life and indeed better life was restored to the leper.

The Lord is saying we should shift our focus from the canal love which we so much pride in and come into His embrace by simply declaring for Jesus and accepting that which He has done in sacrifice for us. This is the embrace that can restore us to the place of eternal glory and not the embrace of strangers which can only further release unto death and perishing. Let us therefore be resolved today to give our hearts and love to Jesus and none other. Between spouses, it is good to profess love for one another today, but let us just ensure we make the Lord our first love. He loves and cares for us.

In the name that is above every other name, whatever is standing between you and the Lord’s embrace is shattered for your sake now, in Jesus’ name. From this day on, by the reason of the new embrace with Love, whatever cannot hurt God shall never be able to hurt you, in Jesus’ name. By the reason of this fresh embrace, every good thing that is found in Christ shall be found in you from now, in Jesus’ name.

Please share. God bless you.
