The Mandate to Shine
Our journey as believers isn't just about personal salvation; it's about being a beacon of truth in a world of darkness. To "hold forth the word of life" means more than just knowing the Gospel—it means actively sharing it. When the truth has been revealed to us, staying silent isn't just a missed opportunity; it’s an act of disobedience. We are called to be witnesses who not only preach but bear abiding fruit that remains long after we are gone.
The Day of Reckoning
The Apostle Paul lived with a sharp focus on the "Day of Christ"—the day of rewards and judgment. He understood that earthly pursuits without spiritual impact are ultimately vain. If we spend our years for self-pursuit only, we are seen of heaven as "cumbering the ground" for nothing; if we live without winning souls or helping others to shape their lives by the Word, we risk reaching the end of our journey with nothing to show our Master. Our love for Christ is proven not by our words alone, but by our obedience to His command to go and make disciples.
Preaching in Every Season
The call to share the Word is urgent, whether it feels "in season" or not. Our mission is two-fold: first, to lead people out of darkness into God's marvelous light, and second, to help them anchor their behavior in the Word so they may reach eternal life. Those who remain faithful to this task will have every reason to rejoice on that final day, knowing their labor was never in vain, when they see their abiding fruits make it in the end.
Prayer
May your works in this spiritual journey never be in vain in the sight of God. In the name of Jesus, may the Owner of the vineyard keep both you and your converts abiding until the very end. I decree that as you study the Word, the Lord equips you with divine wisdom, making your speech effective and turning your tongue into the pen of a ready writer, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
