The Remnants Will Stay

Focus: John 6:68-69 - KJV

68. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

1 Kings 19:18

Today marks the end of the month of July; glory be to our God. Trust we have all had a great month on the Lord’s side. On this day the Lord is making us to know that no matter what, there is always someone who believes and would stay on with him. Today, due to the way the enemy is mesmerizing the world, many people are falling away from the fold. This falling away is either due to loving the world more than God, or the refusal to ingest the truth, which is the avenue to salvation. Elijah once met with the king of his country Ahab, who addressed him as the troubler of Israel. Retorting, Elijah fiercely confronted the king as the true troubler and that he was not alone in doing it but with his father’s house. Of course, Ahab had gone to marry outside the ordinance of God and thereby brought strange gods into the land which caused God to depart from their affairs. In the end, when the opposition for Elijah in the pursuit of righteousness was rife, he took to his heels and asked God to take his life believing he was the only one on God’s side.

Jesus Christ was a very blunt preacher as we discover in John chapter 6. The people however could not bear the truth which He had to tell them. They were not ready to accept swift change from what they were used to. Hence, they refused to stay with Him and therefore, deserted Him in a drove. Nonetheless, the disciples stayed with Him, most of them being Jewish also: they refused to be offended of His doctrine which opposed that of the fathers. It was never too harsh for them to comply with.

Dear friend, another month is closing today. Let us make up our minds as to whether we want to be part of the deserters, like Israel followed Baal in the days of Elijah or like the followers of Christ deserted Him because the truth was peppery to their ears; or we want to stay on with the Lord like the seven thousand in the days of Elijah that refused to bow their knees to Baal, or the disciples that stayed with Christ, sticking with our God to the end no matter what happens in the world. The better place to be is with Christ. Those who stayed have remained heroes of faith from then till now, while the deserters remain unsung. The rapture is nearer today than it was in the beginning of the year. It is those who remain that will go with Him. Let us make up our minds to be part of the remnants.

SOLUTION: No matter what the world throws at us in the form of persecution, tribulation and all, let us remain steadfast in the love of Christ. Nothing should separate us therefrom.

Please pray: Father, I thank you for making me to see the last day of this month as a living soul. I pray that you will please continue to nurture and guide me in your way and strengthen my spirit that I may never desert you, in the name of Jesus. Let all deserters come to the understanding of your love and light that they may quickly return to the fold before it is too late, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Please let the new month be better than all we have experienced from the very beginning, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
