10. Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
Ezekiel 19:1-10
The one who gives birth to children is the determiner of the destiny of her future. When the mother be strong and properly rooted, of her children would arise champions and controllers of destinies. Even if some children fall prey of the enemy and are messed up in battles, the wonder woman brings up other children to take the rulership scepter and take over the reins of the society. If, however, the woman is feeble, an end comes to her generations once one or the other of her children is ripped under situations and circumstances of life. No matter how many times the children of the wonder mother be devastated, she finds strength to bring forth in power and is never left comfortless
The woman in our reading is the Biblical Israel. She gave birth to mighty lions that took rule. But at a point, the strong lion became entangled with Egyptian problem, later another was abducted to Babylon. Incidentally, our figurative mother today is not Israel but the Holy Spirit and that very Spirit has begotten many champions some of who may not have finished strong or well. No matter what the enemy does to the offspring of the figurative woman, He keeps bringing forth and building them unto being lions to bear the rule over the earth, the point being that the mother is well rooted and planted by the rivers of living waters.
The Lord is assuring us as believers that no matter the matters we face in this world, for as long as we have a fruitful and vibrant “mother” in the Holy Spirit, we are to rest assured that our mother is very much able and available to bring forth fruit, every time it is necessary. And forever more, His children will always possess the scepter to bear rule. Nevertheless, whenever the children turn against their mother, they are supernaturally exposed to some external forces who whip the beloved into line so that from time to time, the mother is able to produce another whelp who develops into a brave young lion to obtain the scepter of authority in the end. Let us therefore remain subservient under the Holy Spirit, knowing that it is through Him that we obtain the scepter to rule and rein upon the earth
