Focus: John 18:37 - KJV
37. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
1 John 2:18-23
There is a critical and fundamental problem with mankind. The problem revolves around the willingness to accept the truth. Men are so wired through deception to always resist the truth where it is found even when it is glaring that it is the truth. To deceive man, for everything that is true, the devil has a lie to tell man. For instance, the truth is that God had warned the man that the day he ate of the fruit that was in the midst of the garden, he would die. The devil’s version of that statement of truth is “you will not surely die”. Jesus is the Truth. The truth is in knowing God. Man is wired to have the idea of the existence of God. Every man that comes to the realization of the person of the true God is set free from the bondage of the devil. The devil has however devised a means to present all manner of caricature unto men as God. Many continue to believe the lie even when the Truth glares them in the face. For instance, Laban knew that God prospered him because of Jacob and the same God warned him not to mess with Jacob. Yet, all that Laban put his heart to was some miserable idols which Rachael stole. Gehazi saw the hand of God upon his Master. Rather than focus on that God, what interested him was Naaman’s gifts of money and raiment. That was his own truth and reality. But some others come to the knowledge of the Truth and stick with it. Naaman was an example. The Eunuch of Ethiopia too. Some hear glaring testimonies and so on, about the truth but will not yield until something spectacular happens to them like it did Saul of Tarsus. But, Christ says, blessed are they who do not see but yet believe. The Kingdom of Christ is not of this world. He came to show us the truth that we may know and follow the true God. Those who do are blessed. Those who don’t are considered anti-Christ and will have their condemnation.
Beloved, every time someone speaks to you about Christ and His Kingdom, it is God investing so much to bring you to the knowledge of His truth (His true being). If you accept and hear the voice of Christ directing your affairs in life, congratulations. You know the true God and you will not miss the Kingdom. If you are yet to, please yield your heart to that which Christ has for you. It is no rocket science at all. It is by the truth of the Gospel that we know the true God. And when we know the truth about God, such truth sets us free from the bondage of lies from the pit of hell.
SOLUTION: Identify from scriptures, what sets Christ apart from the others that came before Him? When you discover the same, you will realize that His message is completely unique as it is a pointer to the true God, the Creator of the Heavens and the earth. Once you have this understanding, hearken to the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ and none other.
Father, we know you are the Truth. The more we know you, the more we want to know you. Please fill us with yourself unto overflowing in Jesus’ name. Everyone that has his heart blocked from the knowledge of the truth, please help them by your Spirit to turn their hearts of stone to flesh in Jesus’ name. Please give us the ability to recognize the lie of the devil whenever it is thrown our ways in Jesus’ name. In the end, please do not let us end up as or with the antichrists in the name of Jesus Christ.
