The Way To Life

Focus: John 5:24 - KJV

24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 3:15-36

The wages of sin is death. Sin crept into the world through the deceiving of the woman in the very beginning. God has made a way of escape for man to transcend from death, for which he is ordinarily convicted, to life which is gifted him of God by delivering His only begotten son to die instead. However, the gifted life is not automatic. It is premised on hearing the word of the son of God and believing in Him by which fact we also believe in the father that sent Him. Hearing and believing is proven by the things we do with what we hear of Him. When we do hear and act on His word to bring forth worthy fruit, then we are transcended from death to life.

Saul of Tarsus was one of the initial people that rejected the words of Christ being a Pharisee and teacher of the law. He operated in death and was blindfolded from the truth by the enemy. As a result, he stood firmly against the truth and persecuted those who were in the way to the Kingdom. But then, something happened to him that translated him from death to life. The eyes of his understanding got enlightened. The blindfold of the enemy over his eyes was struck off and when he moved out of darkness, the marvelous light of God was too bright for his eyes that were too used to darkness, thereby striking him blind. But by the life he received and lived by ever after, he got life and escaped death.

God is saying it is time to embrace the truth and gain life. The ways of our Lord are not grievous. And He is not man that He should lie. What He has for us is life, if we accept it. Those who refuse to take it have the death for which they were already convicted, waiting for them. Why must anyone die? What does it profit a man to gain the whole earth and forfeit his soul? What does it take to hearken to and do the bidding of one’s Creator? The Lord is true. Accept the words of Christ today: love the brethren for in it lies the love of God. Do only the will of the father and see the salvation of the Lord.

Please pray:

My father and my God, I thank you for making for me a way of escape from death. The life you have offered me, please help me to gain it fully, in Jesus’ name. Whatever it is that is not making me love the brethren as I should, please take away from me today, in Jesus’ name. Everything I need to make me do your will to the brim, kindly add to me today in Jesus’ name. Make me a candidate of life and not death, O Lord, in Jesus’ name.
