Life is a journey. But the journey is only worthwhile with proper guidance. Many children came into the world without having the opportunity of parental guidance. They are so unfortunate not to have any care giver to guide them whether in an orphanage or any similar institution. The formation of a child is key to his eventual development. When a child without care is placed beside one with care, the difference glares one in the face. The essence of parenting and care is nurturing. Aside nutritional nurturing, there is the mental nurturing. The parents have been through and seen myriad stages of life than the child. They are therefore able to give instruction in words to ensure the child does not fail in places where they and others had failed. A child that hearkens to the guidance of the parents succeeds better in life than those who don’t.
In the same vein, God is our heavenly father. He gave us the earth to live in. As the Creator and ancient of days, He has seen all generations of man and knows each one from the foundation of the earth. He therefore knows best how to guide man through life to succeed. So, He has put His Word together in a bundle called the Bible such that anyone that lives by it should have good success like He said to Joshua. But His Word is not a novel. It cannot be comprehended by mere reading. It is spiritual. Dependence on the letter of the word alone kills. It kills in the sense that one may get a false assertion from it. For instance, it is possible to read that Christ turned water to wine and assume it is an approval for alcohol consumption. That is the letter of the Word. The spirit of it is that Christ turned the disgrace or gloom of the celebrants around and anyone who has Him around can also have a gloomy situation changed to a bloomy one. If only you will follow the instruction in Joshua 1:8, then you will have good success. Reading, meditating and acting on the spirit of the Word will give you good success which is life. Hearken therefore to the Word of God, your Father, and live. Nothing guarantees life better.

Father, I thank you for your Word which is life. Help me by your Spirit to always find the picture behind every scripture and act on it for my good success in Jesus’ name.
